CASE STUDY

The Caffe Florian is an institution in Venice, having served its delicacies for 300 years to the established clientele. Placed on St. Mark’s Square, with its tables reaching into the square and with the enchanting orchestra, it can’t be missed.

As the birthplace of the Venice Biennale it has always attracted and exhibited artists from all around the world. I was invited to exhibit just before St. Valentine day and during the Carnival was a great honour. I exhibited 5 large panoramic views of Venice and decorated the tables of the Liberty Room (which are still there) Hand painted carnival masks and original watercolours were also exhibited. The Caffe produced dedicated chocolate boxes with my art works which together with a variety of prints are still sold in the shop or on line. The exhibition catalogue is a superbly made piece of art with a large series of panoramic views produced in a specially made format. A cooperation followed producing all artistic illustrations for their recipe book “I Dolci Veneziani del Caffè Florian” which is still on sale. I am still in contact for re-stocking and new proposal
